J Roddy Walston and The Automatic Band Jacksonville Concert reviews
Great show. Terrible theater organization.
The Hershey Theater organization was fantastic, but the show ‘Cats’ on 8/20/19 was terrible. People outside the theater were pushing to get inside from a long line out of the rain. Too many ushers directing the organization of the lines into security, but nobody in the theater. Even with umbrellas, many in line waiting their turn soaked from head to toe. With no ropes to guide, the long line turned into a massive line jumping from new arrivals. Security roping can easily solve that problem even if it’s not raining outside. There is no communication or signs for the main bathroom downstairs. Women probably had to take over the men’s bathroom upstairs because they didn’t know. Another problem is that there are more than 2 stalls downstairs. Efficiency is majorly lacking in so many ways in Hershey theater. Best advice is to arrive one hour before the show begins, even though the seating only begins 30 minutes before the show. If you arrive 2 hours before the show, then you might be in trouble and have a bad experience. There is a back door security gate past the loading dock/trailer that not many knew about because there are no ushers or signs to guide from the parking lots. Four security lines way too close to the front entrance doors with no ropes to guide lines in.
